Brushstrokes, Splashes & Stains is conceived as an extension of Ornella Gallo's artistic practice—a monumental artist's book where photography, materiality, and philosophy converge into a single collectible object.
Published in a strictly limited edition of 99 numbered copies, each volume is individually signed and hand-finished by the artist. More than a monograph, every book is a unique work, bearing an original artistic intervention that can never be replicated.
Bound in one of four tactile materials—Elephant Green Suede, Beige Suede, Silver Lurex Linen, or Black Velvet—each cover becomes a canvas in its own right. Inspired by the language of Brushstrokes, Splashes & Stains, every edition is individually painted and finished using the same artistic processes explored throughout the book. No two covers are ever identical; each one carries its own gesture, rhythm, and material presence.
Spanning 110 large-format pages (47 × 35 cm), the publication presents a curated journey through Ornella Gallo's principal bodies of work, including Controlled Chaos, Broken Boundaries, Solid Reflections, and Al-Kimia. Monumental photography, intimate details, and carefully composed texts reveal an artistic practice centred on transformation, sensuality, and the emotional resonance of materials.
